In Las Vegas, there are 45 public parks. You can check each park and its facilities by visiting the city’s Web site at www.lasvegasnevada.gov and click on “Resident.” The city also provides recreational facilities, including golf courses, arts and community event facilities, recreational centers, active adult/senior centers, sports complexes and swimming pools.

— City of North Las Vegas
In North Las Vegas, there are more than 375 acres of developed parkland, special-use recreation facilities, open space, trails, public grounds, 35 parks and 5.37 miles of regional trails. Park sites, such as the Cheyenne Sports Complex, allow the community to hold sporting events and provide large group recreational opportunities. Some of the types of facilities supporting activities in the city’s parks include playgrounds, water features, tennis, sand volleyball, basketball, bocce, soccer, softball and baseball fields. — City of Henderson
Henderson, which was named a “Playful City USA” by KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit, offers 46 well-maintained parks, open grass areas, playgrounds, walking courses, dog parks, skate parks, splash pads and lighted sport areas. The city has recently been awarded more than $200 million in funding for the development of more than 30 projects, including parks, trails and natural areas. — Boulder City
Boulder City Parks & Recreation offers year-round youth and adult sports, aquatic and recreation programs. It manages 16 parks and other amenities, including a recreation center, swimming pool, ball fields, tennis courts, a hiking trail and the Reflections Center, (a landscaped area composed of seven sculptures that change annually). — State of Nevada
The Nevada Division of State Parks plans, develops and maintains a system of 24 parks and recreation areas for the use and enjoyment of more than 2.3 million visitors a year. The division was established in 1963 by the Nevada Legislature to form a new state park agency within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Nevada state parks located in the Las Vegas Region include Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area, Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park and Valley of Fire State Park. — Camping

— Golf Courses, Clubs and Services
Las Vegas recently was named the top emerging golf destination in the world by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators. Residents can select from championship courses, designed by legends of the sport, with lush fairways and breathtaking views. For spectators, Las Vegas hosts many nationally and internationally televised golf tournaments including the PGA Tour’s Michelin Championships at Las Vegas, LPGA Takefuji Classic and Wendy’s Three-Tour Challenge. If you want to improve your swing, you’ll also find numerous golf schools available.

— Horse Stables
Las Vegas offers skilled and novice riders numerous places to horseback ride, including Cowboy Trail Rides, Vegas Horseback Tours, Red Rock Ranch and Riding Stables and the Brass Tacks Equestrian Center. You can also go online and search for private tour operators that offer horseback riding packages.

— Motorcycle Riding
Heading out on the highway on a motorcycle is an experience you should have, considering the region is known as a biker’s paradise. The great weather, fantastic scenery and superb driving conditions make it a super weekend getaway. Check the biking scene by attending the annual Las Vegas BikeFest™, a heavily attended weekend event.
