GLVAR members earn awards for service to community, association Forrest Barbee named REALTOR® of the Year

The Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® (GLVAR) presented awards to several local members and association leaders who were recognized for their service to their community, the association and the real estate profession.
At its annual awards dinner on Nov. 20, GLVAR installed its 2011 board of directors, led by President Paul Bell, of Prudential Americana Group REALTORS®.
GLVAR also presented its REALTOR® of the Year award to longtime local REALTOR® Forrest Barbee, who is a corporate broker and director of education and brokerage information in Las Vegas for Prudential Americana Group REALTORS®. Barbee, who has a diverse professional background, has been a member of GLVAR’s board of directors and currently serves as treasurer for 2010. He volunteers countless hours of his time to the association, his profession and his community.

- Ronn Reiss Award (for educational excellence and leadership) – Myrna Kingham, of Tower Realty Group.
- Hall of Fame Awards – Ernie Freggiaro, of H&L Realty; Marlene Huebert, of Realty Executives; and Linda Rheinberger, of One Source Realty and Management and 2010 president of the Nevada Association of REALTORS®.
- Grass Roots Political Award (new award for 2010 recognizing commitment to grassroots political action and protecting private property rights) – Rocky Finseth, who oversees government affairs activities for REALTORS® statewide as owner of Carrara Nevada; and GLVAR CEO Irene Vogel.
- Affiliate of the Year (for providing outstanding service to the membership, presented at a separate event in late October) – Jim Losell, mortgage planner with iMortgage.
