"People think I'm younger than I am and they're surprised when they find out my how old I am and that I have four kids," he says. But this former collegiate sprinter became well versed in clearing hurdles while at Utah's Brigham Young University. In fact, he's been on the fast track to become an optometrist since the age of 14. His mother worked for an optometrist in his hometown of Paige, Arizona, so when his vision began to blur nearly two decades ago Dr. Jones knew to ask for a checkup. But the day that sealed his fate was when he visited his Boy Scout leader's optometry practice. "That day I knew I wanted to become an eye doctor." Receiving his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University in Oregon and graduating with distinction and as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa honor society, Dr. Jones completed residency programs at the Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute Kaiser Permanente. Having moved to Las Vegas with his wife, Jamie, in 2000, his growing practice and their four kids, ranging in age from toddler to near teen, still keeps him running at high-speed.
