The patient comes first at the Westfield Eye Center where specialized medical, consultative, and surgical services for the eye have been provided since 1980.
The Westfield Eye Center was founded on the basis of meeting the needs of the community, whether it is refractive surgery, corneal transplants or cataract extractions. The Westfield Eye Center has one of the longest ophthalmology histories in southern Nevada. Dr. Kenneth Westfield, medical director, originally opened the facility as the Westfield Eye Center in 1980. In 1997, the name was changed to the Shearing-Westfield Eye Institute after the two largest and oldest ophthalmic practices in Nevada merged. In 2002, the name was once again changed, this time back to the original Westfield Eye Center.
