You just purchased an existing home and while the floorplan and pricing worked, you’re not sure about the kitchen. Perhaps you’re not crazy about the outdated appliances, the cabinets are worn and there is a wall separating the kitchen and the family. But is that worth doing a remodel?
According to the most recent Cost vs. Value Report from Hanley-Wood, LLC, people in the Mountain-zone area, including Las Vegas, can expect to spend an estimated $109,000 to remodel their upscale kitchen, and they can expect to recoup approximately 60 percent of the cost. The investment is sizable, but the kitchen is one of the most important areas (if not the most important room) to remodel.
Plus, even if you’re not considering resale at this time, it’s the lifestyle room where you, your family and visitors spend the most time. The other consideration if you just purchased the home, is that it will be empty for a renovation to occur without you and your family having to live around the nightmare work-around.
