Property taxes also vary greatly depending on the course’s location, property and resale value tend to be better, but that is tied largely to the success and popularity of the golf course.
Also under consideration is infrastructure privacy for roads and water rights. Although many communities are gated, how the roads were funded is important. If tied to a public-access platform, the roads might be busier but will be maintained by the local department of transportation whereas if privately funded, the roads are restricted to the general public but may burden the community association and thereby the homeowners for long-term maintenance. Similarly, it is important to know whether water rights are controlled by the developer, the golf course or the association and what that means for usage and billing.
